HCSB Study Bible App Reviews

This app doesnt offer support for iPhone 5 (and above) users. The My Study Bible site is fantastic. I wish I had read the reviews before downloading the iPhone app. Unless you dont mind a black bar at the top and bottom of your screen, Id entertain another study Bible app. Purely aesthetics, I know, but there are a number of great (regularly updated) apps to choose from.

The devs are well aware of the iOS 7 problem(s) with the app and have even emailed "solutions" to those who have contacted their support. But the solutions dont work. The app needs updated, and theyve had MONTHS to run it with iOS 7 betas and the final release and still no promise of a forthcoming update. Until they acknowledge in writing that an update is coming, I would stay away. A real shame....as this is/was a fantastic study bible app.

Have loved using app in past but as others have noted iOS7 upgrade has caused page orientation issues. Hopefully a fix can be provided soon.

Excellent source for in-depth bible study. The word studies are quite informative especially when you read the Bible by books. The way the word study is set up you can read the whole books word studies consecutively instead of jumping back and forth with links in each verse. I havent even really scratched the surface as far as all the obtainable information but with the Strongs concordance throughout the text this is well worth the money. I use this app 99% of my Bible study time.

I love that I have so much information at the tip of my fingers. Great for reading, studying and understanding the bible while on the go. One tip- Please update for iOS 7 and iPhone 5 users! The bible looks tiny on our screens. Thank youuuuu!

Hands down, this is the best Bible app out there...I have tried 6 different apps, all expensive, and this one is by far the best. My only issue is the slow updating with Apples newest product releases. My iPhone 5s screen is not fully utilized. Other than that issue...there is no greater bible app.

Love the app but will have to stop using until a fix for lack of rotation is released.

I love this app, by far its the best Bible app out there hands down. But its mindblowing that this hasnt been updated to work with the iPhone 5 yet. Theres alot of wasted real estate on the screen and the text is a little hard to read on my phone becuase theres so little room. On the iPad however its great. Please update for iPhone 5 and iOS 7!!!!!!!!

I like the app overall. Glad to see the HCSB study Bible available in mobile form. However I cant give a good review since its still not formatted for the 5/5s/5c. Its just too clunky looking to take seriously on a new iPhone.

The update to iOS 7 locked the app into portrait mode. Hoping this is fixed soon so I bump back up to 5 stars.

I really want to like and use this app but the general layout is cumbersome and not user friendly. It suffers from trying to do too much and too customizable. It would be a fantastic app if it used a simpler layout like other Bible apps.

Very glitchy, good content if you can get it to work. Will not change orientation anymore. I expected more from lifeway.

I wish it would rotate with iPad. Staying in portrait mode is tough when you have a keyboard.

Just dropped $10 on app that will not rotate into landscape on ipad OS 7. Should have read further down user reviews, but honestly couldnt imagine a company releasing a product with no ability to rotate. Who studies on ipad in landscape? So, one more useless app until update is released. Given its been months since os7 has been out, Im not particularly optimistic.

I recently wrote a review criticizing the landscape format. That has been corrected. As someone who owns & has tested the top 5 study Bibles, I can say this is the best study Bible app on the market. I use it for taking notes in my quiet time, writing Bible studies, and research. Love the maps and other features of the Bible. Easy to read, great to use. Worth the money. Rex Fayetteville, AR

This is by far one of the most informative Bible apps that I have found. It is easy to use, it is filled with features, and its notes and maps are worthy of the conference level presentations.

But why when l turn the ipad to multi column view, do l lose the book look, it may sound weird but l like that when it looks like a book and to be able to turn pages just saying

Still hasnt been updated even for iPhone 5, let alone iPhone 6/6+. Hasnt been updated for iOS 7, so some of the swipe gestures from the side and from the bottom interfere with how this app functions. Sad to see a $10 app get abandoned like this.

Seems like everyone knew ios8 was coming but Lifeway. Or they are not that committed to the app. I love the app, and it may be that updates to fix bugs and enhance the product simply arent viewed as crucial.
