Update the app

If you did not we are on ios8 ! We need this app for ios 8 for iphone 5 - 6

What Happened?

It became less user friendly to highlight verses by adding extra steps to do it. When one tries to remove the highlight on the verse, it takes a few times before it disappears.

Retina?

Enjoy the application, but is it being updated for retina display?

Update

I really like this bible app and now it wont update or even go online for me to purchase more books. Please fix.

Great study Bible the only thing I use

Love this study Bible. Cant remember where my onion skin even is. But this new version is quirky. Hard to get the changes you made. Needs some work but there isnt a better one out there. Could you fix the sync function that is suddenly broken in June 2016?

Please Update

Lifeway please fix and update this great resource.

Need to update

Have this bible as my go to in written form. Love it. Purchased and downloaded it years ago and still no update for retina. Come on. One star until updated.

Needs update

Dont buy this until they update to fit to screen size... too old

Excellent bible app

This app is very good for bible study. It is more beneficial than nearly any app one could purchase. Think about this if you are deciding on a bible study app ... Is a distracting entertainment going to give joy even in suffering? One feature request I have is a one-click switch to switch the text over to night mode — A black background with white text. This is shown to be the most easy for the eyes when reading on a screen. The option is there, but requires manually changing several color settings. A single switch would be very welcome by readers, I think.

Very Good

This app is very good and is rapidly becoming my go to Bible. There are a few minor annoyances like the split screen needing to be reconfigured after a shutdown and reopening. Also, it claims to provide Evernote sync but the embedded Evernote login crashes as soon as I click on the login or password idle. Well worth the $10 and would be a 5 star if the above annoyances were addressed.

Too many. Im trying to slim down...

First of all, the app is worth purchasing. The HCSB notes, access to Strongs Concordance for a quick peek at the Hebrew and Greek, maps, and articles are phenomenal when I dont have my personal library on hand. So dont let the price discourage you. This app offers more value than the hard copy HCSB study edition. The HCSB is a solid translation and a nice balance between formal and functional translational styles. When preparing a sermon, the ESV, NLT, HCSB, and the NKJV (for kicks anyway, never hurts to take a look at what the Majority Text approach has to offer) are my favorite editions for comparing translational choices. Points of improvement are as follows. 1) The two pane window approach is great and works well from a "study bible" perspective, but when there isnt a paragraph gap in the text, its difficult to get the hidden menu bars to reappear without selecting a word and having Strongs Concordance pop up in the Full Screen Text mode. Best to stick with the Book Style With Margins viewing mode and/or enable the Toggle Toolbars as one of your gestures (such as double tap). Minimalism is nice when maximizing a view, but frustrating when it is not easily reversed. 2.) They are a little slow in keeping up with Apples hardware release tempo. I still have black bars on the top and bottom of my iPhone 5. I was running this app on an iPhone 4 (which I got 2 and a half years out of). Its nice to leave the hardware lag behind, but I would really like to take advantage of the additional real estate that my new phone has to offer. I have used this app on an iPhone 4S as well. If you have a 4S or iPad 2 and above, you will be happy with the responsiveness. 3.) It would be wonderful if parsing were present as an add on buy in the library which could then be viewed in one of the split window panes. I would pay more than $10.00 for that feature. 4.) Here is my biggest one and it needs to be fixed ASAP. Put the Split Window option in the Display Options! I can lose my two windows and spend 10 minutes trying to get it back. For me, this is by far the most frustrating element of this application.

Fantastic Bible App

Has almost everything you could want in a study bible. The commentary is great. My only knock - and the reason I only gave it four stars - is the lack of a dedicated night mode button. please incorporate this in future versions.

Horrible support and in-app purchases

I bought this app excited that I would be able to have access to maps and commentaries to assist in my studies. However, when you go to purchases the full in-app maps it never provides you with the option to purchase. And when I made contact with their support the only comment was, "We see what you mean. You can see if apple will refund you." Ill be in a new search for a new bible study app.

Only missing one thing

This is an amazing Bible app, prob the best Ive used. But, for me its missing a crucial feature. Like the esv study app, or even a lot of the free ones such as Holy Bible, this thing should totally have the capability for listening, that is having the scriptures read aloud. After all, faith comes through hearing. As an otherwise stellar app I am very surprised that this wasnt considered. Unless of course Im missing something which is also very possible. In which case I would appreciate someone filling me in. Either way, it seems like an easy add for the next update...

Update the app.

No iPhone 5 support. Seeing that it took the same company over two years to get retina support, this seems like the standard. Its silly, as it really shouldnt take much. Content on the other hand is good. I like the app. It just is irritating that they cant update more frequently for useful features.

Good contents bad user interface

Very good content, however the user interface is really bad. To access chapter/ verses need so many tappings. Navigate through is not intuitive at all. The worst part is the font setting, too complicated that results very messy display. Updated: have been used for years with hope. The interface and navigation still as bad as before. So disappointed about this app but contents

Problems after updating to iOS7.

The app does not rotate for me. The icon on the iPad screen will rotate, but when the app is opened, it will stay in portrait view. Is this the app problem or is there something I am doing wrong?

Please Fix

This is (Was) my favorite app until the os7 update and now it will not rotate into the horizontal position. When started horizontally the app appears to work then when the bible comes up it is vertical mode. PLEASE FIX..

Needs iOS7 update

The app orientation is now fixed and will not rotate since I updated my iPad.
